Something A Little Different: Anita to make cameo TV appearance on Zee Bangla’s Sa Re Ga Ma Pa

In a jump far from her usual classical genres, Anita is delighted to be making an appearance on Zee Bangla’s popular televised singing competition Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. Providing accompaniment to one of the show’s contestants as a guest with popular Bengali band Samantak and Mates, Anita had great fun shooting this very different project and tackling the range of new experiences it involved. The broadcast will air on 1st November at 9:30pm.

Anita attends RPS/ROH ‘Conducting for Opera’ course at National Opera Studio

Anita is delighted to have been selected as one of a handful of women conductors to observe the Conducting for Opera course, organised and delivered in conjunction between the Royal Philharmonic Society, the Royal Opera House, and the National Opera studio. Tutors are to include Alice Farnham, Sian Edwards, Mark Shanahan, Jane Glover, Claire Gibault, Jessica Cottis and Richard Hetherington. Anita thanks the RPS for this distinguished opportunity.

Swan Consort to sing at Lincoln Cathedral and Beverley

The Swan Consort are delighted to make their formal debut at St. Mary’s Parish Church, Beverley in Evensong at 6:30pm on Sunday 26th August. It is a matter of great pride to Anita that the consort will sing for the first time in public in her home country of East Yorkshire. The consort will then take up residency at Lincoln Cathedral on the 27th and 28th August, with a programme of Byrd, Tavener, Bairstow and Parry, including a special Psalm setting adapted by Anita from Dowland. We look forward to welcoming you to Beverley and Lincoln this month.

Anita awarded Limpus, Shinn and Durant Prize in ARCO Examinations

Anita was presented in examination for Associateship of the Royal College of Organists in the Summer sitting of 2018. She has been awarded ARCO along with the Limpus, Shinn and Durant prize for the highest mark in a practical examination obtained across the year’s examination sittings. The ARCO conferment ceremony will take place at Southwark Cathedral in March 2019.

Anita to appear in Sandi Toksvig’s Mirth Control, Women of the World Festival 2018

Along with a handful of women conductor colleagues, Anita will appear as a guest conductor in Sandi Toksvig’s Mirth Control as part of the Women of the World festival at the Southbank Centre on 11th March.

Anita Selected for Royal Philharmonic Society’s Women Conductor’s Programme.

Anita has been selected as a participant in the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Women Conductor’s programme, led by Alice Farnham.
